YSP Media is pleased to announce that we’ll be producing the official music video for Gary Nock‘s ’Make it Better‘! We’re really excited to be involved in this promising project and to get the opportunity to work with Gary on this is fantastic for all of us. Make It Better is taken from Gary’s debut album ‘The Life We Learned To Live‘ and was also featured prominently as the soundtrack of a Mars advert last year, so we’re incredibly privileged to be working on the video for such a beautiful and well known song. This is without a doubt our most ambitious project to date and we’re really excited about the potential for the video, which will be directed by Christopher Bevan.

What’s more, you too can be involved! We’ll be aiming to shoot the video between 7th-9th June in Derby and we’re looking for actors and extras to appear in the video. If you’re available and would be interested appearing in a video that will be played around the world, we’d love to hear from you! Simply e-mail chrisbevan89@gmail.com with your name and we’ll add you to the mailing list! The date will most likely be 9th June but if you are free on the 8th too there are opportunities for larger roles. The scene will be a large party and we need as many people as possible to get involved, so don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re also looking for help with the art department including props, food, tables and costumes so let us know if you can help with that!

We’re down to the final week of fundraising for Caught in the Headlights and it’s hard to believe it’s a month since we began. As we race towards the finish we can look back at reaching not one, but two of our goals. Within the first 2 weeks we’d hit our $1600 target and just over a week later we reached over $2000 thanks to the overwhelming support of all of you who backed and shared our campaign. We can’t thank you enough. It means so much to us as filmmakers to receive this kind of backing and endorsement so thank you. Our efforts have even been recognised by IndieGoGo who not only featured our campaign but made Caught in the Headlights one of their Campaigns of the Day!

Every one of our backers will now get an exclusive postcard from the crew but we’re aiming to keep going until the very end! If we can reach $2500 or even $3000 this would be an incredible feat and and allow for even more funds to be put into supporting our cast and crew. You can be sure that any contributions will make a big difference to the film and everyone involved.

And now the rewards! If we hit $2500 we’ll enter every backer into a draw with the prize being dinner with the director and writer of the film in Derby (travel expenses not included). And if we hit $3000 we’ll be holding another prize draw with the opportunity to win a pair of tickets to the premiere of Caught in the Headlights in Derby at the QUAD! So keep sharing the campaign and you could be in with a chance to win these exciting prizes!

So please if you’re still undecided, visit www.indiegogo.com/cithfilm and take a look at the video and have a read about what we’re up to. We’d also really appreciate anyone who is able to share and spread the word of our campaign. We’ve got a few days left to hit our final goal, let’s go for it!

After several weeks of auditions, we’re finally able to unveil the final members of the main cast of Caught in the Headlights. Over the course of the last month we’ve had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic and talented actors and with these castings it’s always going to be the case that a difficult decision has to be reached. The actors who’ve been cast in Caught in the Headlights are a talented and hard working group and we can’t wait to work with them on the film!

In the role of Clarissa, we’d like to welcome Lucy Varney to the cast. A young actor with huge ability and talent, Lucy has starred in a wide array of short films and theatre performances. Most recently she joined the cast of the Tom Wadlow directed feature film Wasteland from Derby based Light Filmsafter starring in a lead role in their previous short film Shelf Stackers. The brains of the gang, Lucy’s character Clarissa may be street wise and quite savvy but she too goes along with thieving and abuse. She’s also the common sense of the gang, the realism & the sanity. Clarissa is kind of contradiction in that sense but a key member of the gang who sees the problems of her friends but is too young and immature to do anything until it might be too late.

Joining Lucy as the final member of the gang is Martin Harvey who’ll play Damo. A filmmaker, artist, musician and actor, Martin is versatile performer with past experience in several short films including Stupid Cupid and his self-directed short film Ninja Society. His character Damo brings a kind of comic relief to the gang but he’s also the innocence and the naivety. He looks up to gang leader Chris and follows his actions & way of life but he doesn’t really care for it. His childish actions prove his immaturity but this also the reason behind what he does; he’s a misguided teen who finds a role model in the worse person possible. As an actor Martin has shown that he can tackle both serious drama and comedy with the combination of these two making him the ideal actor to play Damo.

Finally we’re happy to announce that Adam Poyzer will take on the role of Mikey. The brother of the film’s director of photography Karl, Adam previously appeared in the 2010 short film Falling and will play a key role in shaping the events Keith runs into during Caught in the Headlights. Mikey’s actions finally kick Keith’s life into gear and force him to make change and we’re excited to welcome Adam to the cast!

With Neal Higham (Keith), Joseph Maudsley (Chris), Lucy, Martin & Adam now in place as part of the Caught in the Headlights cast, we now have just 3 supporting roles left to announce for the film with 1 confirmed and the remaining 2 in negotiations with YSP Media. Stay tuned for these announcements in the coming week as we race towards the shoot in early March! Be sure to follow the film on Facebook at www.facebook.com/cithfilm.

What to say? Caught in the Headlights is 100% funded! Can barely put into words how amazed at the support the whole team and I are. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to & shared our campaign. Thank you for believing in us to deliver this film and with your help we will do this and so much more! This has come much sooner than expected and it’s amazing to think that we’ve reached this stage so soon. I’ll be putting a video online soon to recognise this achievement which we’ve managed to reach with 2 weeks still to go. It’s amazing and on behalf of the whole crew I want to thank each and every one of you.

I’d also like to welcome onboard the production our new executive producer William Kubiak. We received an amazing contribution that really gave Caught in the Headlights a boost and I’m delighted to have Bill onboard. We were fortunate enough to meet at the Guerilla Filmmakers Masterclass in July 2011 during the 3 day course and networking events and it was fantastic to have the chance to gain his insight and thoughts. We’re so incredibly grateful for his support to our film.

Thanks to their contributions I’m please to announce that Lynn Adams, Jane Lock, Xiomara Araujo, Carlos De Abreu, Kimberley Fyles, Derek Nicholson & Steve McGill of Nottingham based music production company BND Music have joined the team as associate producers on Caught in the Headlights. Thank you to them for their support too, great to have you on the team!

We’re also delighted to welcome Derby based storyboard artist James Pyle to the team. He’s a fantastic addition to the crew and I’m looking forward to working with him on CITH.

Over the next day or so we’ll be announcing the next steps of the film but before we’ll be unveiling the final members of the main cast of Caught in the Headlights. We’ve been holding auditions for a few weeks and have had some difficult choices to make but I’m confident the cast we’ve chose will help us take this film to the next level.

Once again thank you everyone, it’s been a incredible ride so far and we’ve only just begun! To keep updated visit www.facebook.com/cithfilm for all the latest news on the progress of the film.

We’re delighted today to announce the first members of our upcoming short film Caught in the Headlights and we couldn’t be happier!

In the role of the taxi driver Keith we’re pleased to welcome Neal Higham to the cast. A talented actor with a wide range of experience, Staffordshire based Neal has worked in feature films including ‘Tortoise in Love’ and ‘L is for Lala’ as well as many short films over the last few years. When looking to cast the character of Keith we knew that the role would be challenging and crucial to the film’s success and in Neal we’ve found an actor who has the gravitas to carry this. Keith is a taxi driver dealing with a midlife crisis, he’s insecure, all alone and feels worthless, through the events of one night he decides to take a hold of his life once more, get back his masculinity, power, confidence and put his life back on the right track.

It was hugely important to us to cast an actor in the role of the main antagonist Chris that had the presence to give Keith the challenge that’s been heading his way his whole life. With this in mind we’re thrilled that Joseph Maudsley has joined Caught in the Headlights as Chris, the so called leader of a gang and the personification of all that’s bad in Keith’s life. Joseph has an electrifying presence on screen and has proved utterly absorbing in his past roles with credits on short films ‘Hiding Father Graham’ and ‘Jack’ as well as appearing in the upcoming feature film ‘UFO’.

With these two casting announcements, Caught in the Headlights is well on the way and we’ll be looking to announce additional cast members in the coming week so stay tuned for those! To contribute to and support Caught in the Headlights, please visit www.indiegogo.com/cithfilm.

After over a week of fundraising efforts for our upcoming short film Caught in the Headlights, YSP Media is pleased to announce the launch of our logo competition! We’re searching far and wide for the right design for the graphics/logo on the driver and passenger doors of the taxi used in Caught in the Headlights and you could have your concept featured in our film!

The average family in the UK throws away a fifth of all the food that they buy either cooked and uneaten or uncooked. The amount of food waste thrown away per household is approximately £50 of food per month. If we stopped producing food waste in the UK this would have the same impact on Carbon Dioxide (a greenhouse gas) levels as removing 1 in 5 cars off the road. For more facts and information about Food Waste visit: www.lovefoodhatewaste.com
