History

Yellow Shoe Productions was first formed in September 2005 by a group of 16 year old media students united by the shared enthusiasm of making exciting and creative film projects. Within two years of working together the group had amassed a significant number of amateur short films cumulating in the release of the feature length film ‘CJ Simmons – Elite Mercenary’ in May 2007. With college ending, co-founder and current director Christopher Bevan set his sights on taking up filmmaking and over the next two years spent time developing a follow up series to the feature entitled ‘Dissolution’ which saw filming take place across the UK with a variety of young actors.

In September 2009 Christopher began studying Film & Video Production at the University of Derby and Yellow Shoe Productions became YSP Media. A new website was launched and subsequent student projects all became part of the growing archive of films that had been made under the production company name. Whilst at university, Christopher Bevan and by turns YSP Media became involved with a group of young filmmakers who went under the banner of Jerry Dog Productions.

Following a film challenge in November 2010 the output of filmmaking that YSP Media has produced and been involved with has increased in frequency, quality and creativity with new focus being directed into music videos, corporate promotions and many more types of film production. As the number of films being created increases, so does the passion of all involved and the burning desire to succeed makes for even greater work. After six years of history and many changes, YSP Media is and will always be home to creative and original filmmaking.
